Following the announcement of the Wickes Wellbeing Challenge earlier this year, we are delighted to announce that our partnership with home improvement retailer Wickes has been extended to the Year 10 National Careers Challenge for the 2024/25 academic year.
As the largest careers and enterprise competition in the UK, The National Careers Challenge provides students with the opportunity to experience their future world of work with tasks designed to reflect the modern workplace. Through a bespoke challenge designed in collaboration with our sponsors and their real, business critical needs, young people are enabled to to develop key soft skills, including teamwork, creative thinking, public speaking and more – skills that are transferable across any career!
Year 10 students across the country will now have the opportunity to take part in the Wickes Wellbeing Challenge, where they will be posed with the challenge of identifying an empty, disused or vandalised space within their school or local community and consider how this space could be re-imagined using Wickes products to promote inclusivity and physical, mental or emotional wellbeing. Students will then develop a concept for an innovative new product or service that could be offered by Wickes to encourage more customers to take on a DIY project and shop in store. The winning team from each school will go on to represent their school at The National Career Challenge Grand Finals in July where they will compete to be crowned National Champions.
Ben Dyer, co-founder of The Inspirational Learning Group said, “After a wonderful response to our first challenge with Wickes, we are absolutely delighted to be widening the reach of this challenge to schools across the country through The National Careers Challenge. We pride ourselves on creating relevant content for students and this challenge will enable students to
consider the vital topic of wellbeing. We are pleased to be welcoming Wickes to our suite of sponsors for this academic year and cannot wait to see students tackling this challenge”.
